Homemade Body Butter

I made this delicious Body Butter a few weeks ago and have loved using it!  It has Lavender essential oil in it which is great for moisturizing skin and taking redness out.  It also has Carrot Seed oil in it, which gives it sun protecting properties, like sunscreen.  The Tea Tree oil in it is great for healing cuts, scrapes and acne!  Overall some great properties in this Body Butter, which makes it great to use on your face!  It is a little greasy, so you do not need to use very much--a little goes a long ways!  I mainly use it on my face at night, unless I am not going to wear makeup then I will use it in the day time as well.
I have used it on the rest of my body, like a lotion as well and it is so moisturizing and shiny :)
Ingredients:
4oz Shea Butter (I bought at the Natural Food Store in Grand Island, NE)
2 TB jojoba or avocado oil  (I bought at the Natural Food Store in Grand Island, NE)
15 drops Lavender essential oil (I used Young Living essential oils)
10 drops Rosemary essential oil  (I bought at the Natural Food Store in Grand Island, NE)
5-7 drops Carrot Seed oil (I used Young Living essential oils)
3-5 Tea Tree essential oil (I used Young Living essential oils)

Instructions:
1.   Melt the Shea Butter over medium heat in a saucepan.  Add jojoba oil and turn off heat.
2.  Pour into a bowl and place in the freezer and allow to cool and return to solid (but not hard).  This takes 15-20 minutes.  Do not completely freeze it.  Set a timer.
3.  Once solid looking, remove from the freezer and add in the essential oils.  Use a mixer and whip the mixture until it is soft and has a "whipped" texture.  After a minute or 2 minutes, scoop the Body Butter into a jar and store at room temperature.
4.  Apply to face and body as desired!

I am almost reedy  to make another batch of this, and I will probably double or triple it this time, as my family likes to use it as well.  I only use Young Living essential oils because they are the highest quality oils and therapeutic grade.  If you are interested in learning more about these oils, shoot me an email or phone call!

Enjoy and please email me with any questions at [email protected]
