Juicing Adventure: Day 15

Okay, Day 15 was a bit of a "cheat day", but I swear I had a good excuse!  I started out the day with a protein shake and then a workout with my Trainer.  My shake was almond milk, frozen blueberries and protein powder.  My workout went well and I felt pretty energetic during the hour long workout.  I am actually considering trying out some running again, as long as my joints keep feeling good.

I had a client right after my workout and then I went to a friends house and sat in the sauna for about 45 minutes, so my post workout protein was a bit delayed but since I had about 35-40g before my workout I feel I was adequately recovered.  The research now says that having your protein before or during your workout may be just as good or better then right after.

For lunch I had 3 egg whites and one whole egg and 1/2 cup quinoa with sauteed cucumber in it (YUM).  I made some juice at this time and sipped on it during the afternoon while doing paperwork at home (SOOOO much paperwork ahhhhh!).  My juice was: kale, 3 carrots, 3 celery stalks, ginger root, turmeric root and ice.  I added some stevia to my second glass-it was a quite a bitter juice.

After a few hours of paperwork, I went back to the gym to train a few clients and teach bootcamp.  It was a really fun bootcamp class to teach because we just got a new TRX bar put up in the gym so in "trainer talk......NEW TOYS!  ha ha.  A TRX rope hangs from a bar or door (in our case, bar) and has two handles at the ends that allow you to do a versatile workout in a 3D plane.  The workout is against your own body weight and gravity in a suspended plane--tough and great for the core!  Very excited about this new equipment.

Okay, now for the "cheat" part.  So I volunteer for the Teammates program in Grand Island and I have had my teammate for a year now (pictured above).  She is a Senior at GISH and her birthday was yesterday.  Kind of a big birthday in her case, as she turned 18.  I had planned with her months ago that I would take her to Fuji Japanese Steakhouse for her birthday and so it was.  It is quite a process to take your Teammate somewhere outside of school, so I wanted to make it a special day for her.  Me, my boyfriend and my mom all went out to eat with her and had a great time!  It was her first time at a place with a Hibachi Grill and she was just enthralled with the whole experience.  She tried sushi for the first time, used chopsticks for the first time and the staff sang to her and made her dance!  I was smiling on the inside watching her, the whole time.

So anyway this was my cheat because I am not suppose to eat out during this 3-weeks, but I made an exception yesterday.  I tossed it around in my head for a while and debating not eating, but I just didn't want to take away from the experience for her.  I only ate half my food, so I didn't overdue it at least.  I ate a few pieces of sushi, some edamame (soybeans) and for my meal I had veggies, rice and some shrimp.  I ate all my veggies and half my rice and meat.  Oh it was goooooood! :)

Great day yesterday and looking forward to a great one today as well!
