Juicing Adventure: Day 14

Two weeks have come and gone--wow time flies!  Overall it has been great and still going exceptionally well.  I started off the day with my 6 egg whites (cooked in coconut oil) and added 1/2 cup plain quinoa to them and covered them with hot sauce ---and I mean COVERED!  ha ha.  I like spicy!  I made my normal hot lemon water as well and sipped on that while I got ready for church.  

After a lovely church session, I went to Hyvee and got some groceries to make almond butter, hummus and gluten free crackers!  I ended up only making the almond butter and hummus but was very pleased with how they both turned out!  The almond butter is very simple: 3 cups almonds, 2 tbs coconut oil.  The hummus was pretty simple as well:  1 can garbanzo beans, 3-5 tbs lemon juice, 1 1/2 tbs tahini, 2 cloves garlic, 1/2 tsp salt, 2 tbs olive oil.  I added crushed red peppers and cayenne pepper to taste (told ya I like spicy!).  

For lunch I made salmon and cucumber quinoa.  It was very satisfying I must say!  A little bit after lunch I decided to make a creamy treat.  I am going to call it Creamy Chocolate Bliss:  1 frozen banana, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1 tsp cacao powder, 1 packet stevia and 1 tbs almond butter.  O.M.G.  It was SOOOO good!   A little tip-peel your banana and cut it up before you freeze it.  And Cacao powder is just unsweetened cocoa powder, you can find it in the food mart of Hyvee or at the Natural Food Store.  

It was kind of a curl up and cuddle kind of day with this CRAZZZZY wind!  Holy Cow! My grill even blew over today!  Me and my dog (Plyo) spent some quality time cuddling (pictured above).  I watched some NBA basketball on tv and kind of messed around on my email and internet for a few hours while doing laundry, after lunch.  Finally got up and did some more housework around 5:30pm and stopped to make my evening juice about 7:30pm.  My juice was: collard leaves, cilantro, mint leaves, 3 celery stalks, 2 carrots, 1 lime, inch of ginger and a scoop of protein powder.  It was a little bitter, but went down easy enough.  

Just sitting down finishing my juice, watching the Grammys and thinking about doing a little more housework.
