Day 7 went pretty smooth. It was nice not waking up to crazy franticness and a million things to do! I had a relaxing morning and had some tea before making a big Vitamix of juice. I made it extra big since I was going to be in a car most the day, traveling to Omaha. It was a bit of a test because it was the first time traveling since I started this juicing adventure and I wasn't sure how it would go. I planned ahead though and packed some carrots, celery and boiled eggs to snack on. Anyway, back to my morning juice: I added the protein powder, as I have been and found some avocados that I forgot I bought so added some avocado and it made a nice, creamy juice. I sipped on the juice from about 10am to 1pm so it covered breakfast and lunch (about 6 cups). I did have a boiled egg before the juice at about 9am and then another around 5pm.
I think my muscles are feeling the lack of protein the last few days, so hopefully the eggs and protein powder will build my strength up in the next few days. I plan to start working out again tomorrow, so we will see how that goes too.
For supper, I had the recommended 6 egg whites (equals 1 cup) and I chopped up some tomato, cilantro, jalapeno and avocado to mix in it and it was quite wonderful. My biggest meal in a week! The plan I am following recommends 6 egg whites in the morning and evening and juice during the day, so I will try to stick to that the best I can. And I will keep detoxifying with the lemon water throughout the day.
Today was a pretty big test, because my old lifestyle was to eat out when I traveled (even though I would most often make healthier choices). Its been getting harder and harder for me to want to eat out the last few years and after this juicing experiment I hope I put it to rest for the most part. Its just hard to know what restaurants put in their food ie) additives, preservatives, chemicals, msg etc. I really want to take ownership for what I put in my body and this is the start!
