Juicing Adventure: Day 6

Day 6 of my Juicing experiment has come and gone like the wind!  (haha if you live in Nebraska right now, you will get that one!)  It started off as an early morning with a nice big vitamix full of juice!  I made an extra big batch since I knew it would be a while until my second juice.  Keep in mind one blender of juice can make 3-5 cups of juice and this one was 5.  The added perk of day 6 is that I could add protein.  Exciting!  I blended my juice in some almond milk and added protein powder at the end (when I usually add the ice).  A little tip on why I add the protein at the end, after everything is blended up---it's better to do it this way because the protein molecules can breakdown if over blended.  Also it makes it less foamy.

I was very satisfied after this shake and wasn't hungry all day at work (from 7-2).  I sipped on tea all day at work (hot green tea).  I prefer squeezing half a lemon in my water or tea that I drink all day, especially during this juicing adventure.  I ended up eating a few carrots during the day and a few pieces of deli turkey right when I woke up (6am).  I will not be eating any other protein sources than protein powder and eggs/egg whites (2 egg yolks allowed for women per day).  The turkey tasted SO salty after 5 days of no food.  I knew our food was full of sodium but holy cow!!!

I made my second batch of juice around 6pm and made it with coconut water and protein powder this time.  The taste is a little to get used too.  Im not sure how to explain it, maybe it is just sweeter than I am used to the last 5 days.  This vitamix batch was about 4-5 cups, so I got my 10 cups in today.  Thank Goodness!  The last few days were hectic and I missed my juice!  I boiled about 10 eggs to start eating now and will have 2 shortly.  I am sure they will taste heavenly!  I will peel them and have them ready to eat in a zip loc.  

Results after 6 days:  I am feeling great!  I am more energetic, less hungry and not wanting to eat out at all--actually a little repulsed by the idea at this point.  My shoulders and knees have not bothered me the last few days.  Remember that is one of the main reasons I am doing this--to reduce inflammation in my joints.  I am focused on finishing my 3 weeks and really excited about the possible outcomes.  I am hoping that after 3 weeks I will want to continue (with protein of course!).  Another benefit of this juicing adventure---I've lost 8 pounds in 6 days!  Not too shabby of a side affect!

Awesome experience of juicing experiment leads to improve the sense of vitamin intaking purposes. Protein shakes or juices energizes inside out and limitates antioxidants by all means. Substances that involved within imitates power saving satisfying results.
