Snow Day Circuit: Indoor & Outdoor +Bonus Recipe


Snow Day Circuit is a workout inspired by this wonderful winter storm that has flown in.  I know it can be discouraging when you have weight loss goals and cannot make it to the gym.  No fear, I have a few alternatives for you!  

All you need for these workouts are a clock or stopwatch and your body!  If you have a chair and a step this would be helpful as well.  It is fun to involve your kids or spouse as well and have them do it with you or time for you.  





     Indoor Snow Day:

     Warm Up
     1 minute jumping jacks 
     1 minute fast squats 
     20 sit ups
     10 pushups 
     5 burpees

     Circuit (NO REST until it says rest)
     10 squat jumps
     5 burpees (with the pushup)
     10 pushups
     5 burpees
     10 sit ups
     5 burpees
 
     Rest 30-60 seconds:  Have a chair &  step ready (can be a step on stairs in your house)

     1 minute fast step ups (step up and down on one stair or if you have a flight can go up & down)
     1 minute jump rope (pretend you have a rope, jump in place doing arm movements)
     1 minute high knees & butt kicks (in place, alternate doing high knees and but kicks, fast!)
     1 minute plank (on elbows and toes, butt down)

     Rest 60 seconds and Repeat circuit for a total of 3 times through 

     Outdoor Snow Circuit: Put on your snow boots and...

     Walk for 5 minutes to warm up
     Bunny hop 10x
     High skip 20x
     Jumping Jacks 20x
     Windmill 20x (stand feet spread apart and hands above head: touch right hand to left foot, alternate)
     Walk for 5 minutes
     Bunny hop 10x
     High skip 20x
     Jumping Jacks 20x
     Windmill 20x
     Walk for 5 minutes
     Bunny hop 10x
     High skip 20x
     Jumping Jacks 20x
     Windmill 20x
     Walk for 5 minutes
     Go inside and make hot chocolate!!! :)

***Shoveling snow or sledding for 30 minutes would be just as good as this workout :) and more fun!

Healthy Hot Chocolate 

~1 Cup unsweeetened vanilla almond milk
~2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
~1 Tbsp stevia
~1 cinnamon stick <optional>

Warm up almond milk and cinnamon stick in a small saucepan over medium heat.  Bring to a simmer and add in cocoa powder.  Stir until completely dissolved.  

Pour into mug & garnish with a cinnamon stick.

I remember the day when I saw live snow falling and couldn't forget it on any cost. It was all about the great feelings of nature. Mountains top with shawls of snow look marvelous. You have done good job by sharing the recipe for snow day.
