Food for Thought

Especially when we are dieting, we tend to eat the same foods over and over.  Eating the same foods gets BORING, we need to spice it up!  I will try to add a "Food for Thought" blog every once in a while, just to keep you thinking and trying new things!

My favorite thing to eat the last few weeks are corn tortilla wraps.  They are very quick and easy to make and are low calorie (around 200 calories per wrap).

Corn Tortillas, Cheese, Deli Meat, Mayo, Spicy Mustard or Chili Sauce, Spinach or Romaine

To Make:
Take 2 corn tortillas, split a piece of cheese in half and put one half on each tortilla.  Microwave for 30 seconds.  Put a small squeeze of mayo and spicy mustard (or chili sauce) on top of the cheese.  Add a few slices of deli meat (I prefer smoked turkey or roast beef) and a few pieces of spinach (or romaine) and fold it over.  And YUMMMMM.

I am trying to ditch the chips and go for raw veggies as a side.  Here is a way to make this simple and healthier:

Buy 2-3 bags of veggies at the store (broccoli, califlower, carrots, celery, peppers etc) and pour (slice if needed) them all into a big ziploc bag when you get home so you can have easy access to veggies as a snack or side (when you are ditching the chips).  Also, instead of going for the Ranch Dressing, go for a dip made with plain greek yogurt:

  • 1 (17.6 ounce) container Greek yogurt
  • 2 Tablespoons minced fresh parsley leaves (or 2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes)
  • 1 Tablespoon dry minced onion flakes
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried dill weed
  • ½ teaspoon paprika

To Make:  Very complicated here, read carefully.  Mix all of the ingredients.  Thats all.

Make it a goal to try new things on a weekly basis!  Any questions? Email me.

Don't forget to make an account on and add me, "Chickfly42"
